Our English team is tasked with creating strong readers with articulate writing and communication skills. We are proud to introduce a talented group of educators joining Instructional Coach Christina Hawkes to focus on that goal and more for our Trail Blazers.
Ms. Valerie Law (English and GT Humanities):
Originally from California, Valerie Law joined Frisco ISD in 2014. She currently teaches at Frisco High School as an AP Language and Composition and Pre AP English I teacher. She has experience teaching all levels of English Language Arts and Creative Writing. She was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California Berkeley (Cal) and a Master’s in Education from the University of Southern California (USC). She also holds a certification in Gifted and Talented education as well as English as a Second Language. Valerie is a military wife with two daughters, Jadon and Morgan. In her free time she enjoys theatre, reading, and traveling to new places. She is invested in all of her students’ academic and personal success and is excited to join LTHS as a GT Humanities teacher.
Ms. Lucy Miller (English Teacher):
Lucy Miller is thrilled to join the Lebanon Trail family! Ms. Miller was born and raised in Louisiana, but she is excited to make the move to Texas. After attending LSU Baton Rouge in order to earn her undergraduate degree in English literature. She ended up staying in Baton Rouge for a bit longer in order to earn her Master of Arts in Teaching. LSU will always be close to her heart! Along with literature, Ms. Miller loves theater and attends all types of theatrical performances any chance that she can get. In her spare time, she loves to read, have conversations about shows on Netflix, and go on power walks. She can’t wait to get to know all of the Trail Blazers!
Mrs. Larisssa Ledbetter (English and Cheer Coach):
Mrs. Ledbetter is joining the Lebanon Trail family as both an English teacher and Cheer Coach. She is currently in her fourth year of teaching English and has taught Pre-AP and on-level English I and English II. As a coach, she has eight years of experience from coaching 4th grade to Varsity. She loves spending time with her husband, Mike, three year old son, Jack, and their dog, Trapper John. Mrs. Ledbetter is thrilled to help the Trail Blazers create new traditions and establish a legacy of excellence!
