Introducing: LTHS Leaders

 

The direction of a school depends on the strength of school leadership.  Proud to introduce a group of ambitious, focused, and skilled instructional coaches (IC) and campus leaders for LTHS.

jackson with me at awards.jpgLanguages Other Than English (LOTE) IC Kimberly Church:  Mrs. Church graduated from Austin College and has taught Spanish for 12 years, most recently at Wakeland High School.  Mrs. Church is also the winner of the National Outstanding Teaching Award from the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese.  She is very passionate about servant leadership and scholarships. As a “boy mom” she is outnumbered at home with 3 boys, and a very competitive Cowboys-super-fan husband who claims he could always do a better job than the current NFL referee officials.  She is a super fan of The Walking Dead, computational linguistics, latin dance and new technology and can usually be found with her nose in a book or bragging about her students on Twitter.


Moran-Susan1374Science IC Susan Moran:
 Mrs. Susan Moran, currently teaching at Frisco High School, will be the Science IC at Lebanon Trail High School. Mrs. Moran joined FISD in 2007, and previously taught in Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD. She has taught all levels of Biology including 9 years of teaching AP Biology. Mrs. Moran is a Master teacher for the STARS Biology camp at UT Southwestern, a consultant for The National Math and Science Initiative (NMSI) and has served the College Board as an AP reader. Mrs. Moran has been awarded a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Dallas. Lebanon Trail will focus on college ready skills that will help those that are driven to study science in college or build careers in a related field. Mrs. Moran enjoys spending time with her husband and their daughter (age 5) and son (age 2).

Decker.jpgSocial Studies IC Kelsey Decker:  Kelsey Decker will be joining the Trailblazers as the Social Studies Instructional Coach. Mrs. Decker started her teaching career at Centennial High School and has taught a variety of subjects and grade levels. She has also been a curriculum writer and presenter for FISD. Mrs. Decker is excited to create a Social Studies department that will help LTHS students and graduates become engaged citizens that make informed decisions in a culturally diverse and global community. After graduating from Austin College with both her bachelor’s and master’s degree, Mrs. Decker moved to Frisco with her husband. She stays busy with her four kids, Micayla, Aidan, Lily, and Ella. On the weekends you will find Mrs. Decker cheering her kids on at one of their sporting events or eating at one of her favorite Mexican restaurants.

English IC Christina Hawkes:  Hawkes PicBorn and raised in Texas, Christina is a graduate of Frisco Centennial High School and Texas Woman’s University.  Christina is excited to start new traditions at Lebanon Trail that encourage school spirit and participation!  She is even more excited to be an IC and getting to work with Trail Blazers who are looking forward to trying new ideas that help all students be successful! Christina has been married for three years and has two dogs, Rocco and Toby.  In her free time, she enjoys reading and outdoor activities like swimming, snowboarding, and taking her dogs for walks! 


Valerie.jpgMath IC Valerie Adams:
 
Valerie Adams is thrilled to become a part of the Lebanon Trail community as the Mathematics Instruction Coach. She is extremely passionate about teaching and coaching and cannot wait to join the campus, students, staff, and parents. She is a proud graduate of the University of North Texas with experience teaching mathematics at the college level and high school level. She has also been a curriculum writer and professional development trainer at FISD. Currently at Wakeland High School, Valerie is teaching Algebra 1 and Math Models, is the Healthy Zone Coordinator, and the Mathematics representative for the school’s campus instructional team. During her free time, Valerie loves to ride motorcycles, race off-road enduro, camp, hike, and travel. While she loves to blaze trails on the race track, she is even more excited to be a Trailblazer!

image1Testing Coordinator and Administrative Support Kristina Pospick:  Mrs. Pospick has taught high school at the eleventh grade level for ten years, teaching both AP Language and English III. She has also served as a Student Council sponsor for seven years and loves being an active member in the school. She is excited to continue working with Student Council, being part of the LTHS Leadership Team, and assisting with building new traditions to help LTHS students have the best high school experience possible. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, as well as traveling to new places. She is honored to be a Trail Blazer!

Jackie Smith PicLead Counselor Jackie Smith: Jackie Smith joins the LTHS team as lead counselor with 27 years of experience in education.  She has lived in Frisco for over a decade and watched the city grow and change each year.  After spending the last eleven years as a teacher and counselor at Centennial High School, Mrs. Smith is excited and proud to be working with the inaugural Trail Blazers as they establish traditions and set the bar for future students of Lebanon Trail.   Mrs. Smith likes to travel with her husband, take in a movie every weekend, and try new restaurants.  She has two feisty, feline friends, Betty and Wilma.
